  • Patient Ratios: RN: Days - 1:5 with tech; 1:4 without tech; Nights - 1:6 with tech; 1:5 without tech
  • CNA: Days - 1:16; Nights - 1:23
  • Skills required: Medication administration, Telemetry experience, Wound care, Continuous bladder irrigation, IV insertion skills, Cardiac drips (non-titrating), Oxygen administration, Central line management/care, Pre & Post op care, NG tube placement and care, management of G-tubes
  • Charting System/Equipment: EMR: Meditech Expanse, IV Pumps: Alaris, Medication dispensing: Pyxis
  • Floating: Units: 2 West and 3 West
  • Orientation: 3 days hospital orientation, 2 shifts orienting to unit
    • Job Requirements
    • Minimum years of experience: 1 year
    • Will accept a first-time traveler: Yes
    • Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff
    • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS are required
    • NIHSS (preferred)
      • Schedule Information
      • Weekend rotation: Every other
      • Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week - this is mandatory
      • Can we approve time off? Yes, up to 7 days; must extend to accommodate a 13-week contract
      • May only request (1) weekend off per 13-week contract
      • Call required: None
      • Holiday Expectations: Must work 2/3 major holidays

        • Support on the Unit: Charge nurse will take patient assignment
        • Phlebotomy: Yes, shared responsibility with RN
        • IV/VAT Team: Yes, for midline/central lines only
        • RT, 24/7
        • Hospitalist available, 24/7
        • OT, PT, ST
        • Remote Tele monitoring (RN will confirm tele tech readings once per shift)
