  • Stepdown nursing position at Willis-Knighton Bossier Health Center
  • 12 beds in the unit
  • Patient types include Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, Stroke, DKA, s/p heart cath, s/p aortogram/arteriogram
  • Patient ratio is RN: 1:3
  • Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a permanent staff
  • 2 years of experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
    • Job Requirements
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • NIHSS preferred
    • Traveler must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
    • Skills in CVL management/placement, foley cath management, tube feedings, arterial lines, diabetes management, and drip titration preferred
      • Schedule Information
      • Weekend rotation: every other weekend
      • Mandatory 4 days one week and 3 days the next week
      • Possible rotations: 3/2 or 5/2
      • Time off requests: Up to 7 days, must extend contract for any full week of RTO
      • Only one weekend of RTO per 13-week contract
      • Will work 2/3 major holidays
      • No call required

        • Floating to stroke unit and Medsurg (1:5-6) may occur
        • Orientation includes 2 days hospital and 1 12-hour shift on the unit
        • Charting system: Meditech Expanse
        • IV pumps: Alaris
        • Medication dispensing: Pyxis
          • Additional Details
          • Scrub color: Pewter
          • Free parking in designated areas
          • Professionalism is mandatory: no cell phone usage in patient care areas, no earbuds, no eating at desk
